Zachary Richardson played with his toys while Andrew, Jon and Chris watched TV. Zachary thought, "I like my toys, but I wish I could drive a real train or fly a real plane. But a kid just can't do that."
Page 4
"Of course you can, Zachary" said a voice. It was the toy train that was talking! "My name is Chuggy. If you use your imagination, you can do or be anything you like. Why, sometimes I like to pretend I am a real locomotive. Let me show you."
Page 5
Chuggy became a huge locomotive, with smoke pouring from his stack. Zachary was the engineer. "All aboard," cried Zachary. "This seems so real," he told Chuggy. "All you have to do is use your imagination," said Chuggy. "Why don't you try it?"
Page 6
Chuggy said, "Zachary, imagine that you are a real jet pilot. Just relax and pretend that you are about to take off in a jet plane."
Page 7
"Pilot to control tower. Ready for takeoff!" The jet engines shrieked. The pilot guided the thundering jet down the runway and took off into the blue sky. Guess who was the pilot - Zachary!
Page 8
Chuggy said, "That was great, Zachary. You have a good imagination." Zachary told Chuggy, "This is so much fun. Now I want to be an astronaut in a space ship."
Page 9
Zachary felt lighter than a feather in his space suit. Soon he would be the first human to set foot on Mars. Austin, Texas seemed far away. "I wish Andrew, Jon and Chris could see me," Zachary thought.
Page 10
"Wow, Zachary, you are really brave to go on a space trip to Mars," said Chuggy. "I can't wait to see what you try next.
Page 11
The next instant Zachary was a police officer chasing a burglar. The wailing siren and the bright lights on his police car warned other cars to get out of the way.
Page 12
"You can even go back in time if you want to, Zachary," said Chuggy. "Why don't you imagine that you are back in the days of the Old West?"
Page 13
In a flash it was a dusty street in an Old West town. The Marshal rode into town on a handsome horse. "Howdy, Marshal," said the blacksmith. "We all heard how you rounded up that gang of outlaws."
Page 14
Chuggy coughed. "Zachary, that one was so real that I'm choking on the dust." "I liked going back in time," said Zachary. "Maybe I'll go even further back and be captain of a sailing ship."
Page 15
The huge sails filled with wind as the ship started its journey. Captain Zachary told his crew to be on the lookout for pirates.
Page 16
Chuggy yawned and said, "I'm getting a little tired, Zachary. It's about time for me to go back to the toy box for the night. But how about one last adventure? I'll bet you would like to be a firefighter and drive a real fire truck!"
Page 17
Zachary drove the fire truck up to the front of the burning house. Soon the fire was out. "You're so brave," said the woman. "All in a day's work," said Zachary.
Page 18
Chuggy yawned and stretched. "Well, I'll say good night now, Zachary. I need my rest. There's no telling where your imagination will take us tomorrow!"
