Zachary Richardson had been waiting for the circus to come to Austin, Texas for a long time. The big day was here at last. "Let's go early," Zach said to Michael, Ryan and Eric.

Zach, along with Michael, Ryan and Eric, got to the circus so early that all the seats in the circus tent were still empty. Everyone was busy getting ready for the show.

Zach saw the lions and tigers in their cages. He saw horses prancing and dancers dancing. "Where are the elephants and the clowns?" Zach asked Michael, Ryan and Eric.

Suddenly a door flew open and in came a red fire truck. It was full of clowns! Chuckles the Clown was riding on the back of the truck. Zach thought, "How funny all the clowns looked!"

Zach saw another door swing open as a parade of elephants came into the ring. The biggest elephant stood on a little stool. The baby elephant had a baby's rattle in his trunk!

The clowns drove the fire truck around and around. Then an awful thing happened. A huge pole holding up the circus tent went Crack! Zach saw it falling toward Chuckles! "CHUCKLES, W-A-T-C-H O-U-T!!!" Zach screamed, as loudly as he could.

Chuckles jumped off the fire truck just before the huge pole crashed down. Zach ran over to Chuckles. "You saved my life," cried Chuckles. "You are indeed a hero. I will make tonight very special for you."

It was almost time for the show to begin. What fun! The spotlights came on and everyone's eyes were on Chuckles. Zach could feel the excitement as Chuckles began to speak.

"Tonight we have a special guest. This child saved my life. Zachary Richardson, I will never forget you," said Chuckles. Michael, Ryan and Eric watched proudly as Chuckles gave Zach a big gold medal.

Everyone cheered and shouted, "Hooray!" when they heard how Zach had saved Chuckles the Clown's life.

After all, Chuckles is everyone's favorite clown.

Then Chuckles said, "Zachary Richardson you are the star of the circus tonight. You can be anything you want." "May I be a clown like you and ride on the fire truck?" asked Zach. "Sure," said Chuckles, "It will be an honor."

Chuckles painted Zach's face to look just like his own. Then he brought out a little Chuckles clown suit. When Zach had the suit on, he said, "I look just like you. This is so much fun."

There was a brand new fire truck waiting in the ring for Zach and Chuckles. The other clowns were already in the truck.

"Climb up," said Chuckles. Zach hopped up beside him. They rode around and around the circus ring. "Rrrrr, Rrrrr, R-r-r-r-r," the siren screamed. Zach waved at Michael, Ryan and Eric.

Chuckles was right. It really was a special night, one that would be remembered for a long time.
