What type of Printer do you use? - We have moved this question to the top of this page because it has become the most important one.

Ann's Personalized Books uses a color laser printer. Most of the other companies making these same books use an inkjet printer and that ink will smear, laser printouts will not smear.

What is a Personalized Children's Book?

Personalized Children's Books are different from ordinary children's books because the story is made to make a special child the main character or "the star" in that book. His or her name, along with other personal information such as age, hometown and friends is blended into the story on almost every page. Children will actually want to read these stories because the story is about them and their friends. Our books will provide your child with a unique reading experience that he or she will want to repeat many times. A special dedication message from you will always remind the child of your special gift.

How are personalized books made?

Personalized books are printed using a color laser printer and then bound using a patented binding process. The Lift-the-Flap and Pop-Up books are a little bit different than the other books, they are personalized by adding printed stickers to the complete books.

Why are there so many different categories of books?

We put books into categories that make sense to us. Most of the books are in more than one category.

What information is needed to personalize a book?

Child's first name, hometown, name of one to three friends, date of gift, and who the book is from is usually found in all books. The individual order forms will help you provide the proper information for the book you wish to order. Some optional information includes last name, nickname, age, and special dedication message.

How do I order a personalized book?

Ordering may be done in just a few simple steps:
1) Find the perfect book in one of the many category pages listed on the left side of this page.
2) Click on the "Order Book" button
3) Fill out the personalization form
4) Click the "Submit my Book Order Now" Button
5) Click on the "Add to Cart" button

If you wish to order more books, click the "Continue Shopping" button.

If you are finished shopping, click the "Secure Checkout" button and complete the process through PayPal.

What happens to the information I give you?

Any personal information supplied to us for your books is used only to process your order and will be kept confidential. We will not release your name or email address to other parties.

What if I want more than one copy of a book with the same information?

To have more than one book printed with the exact same information, just change the quantity in the PayPal shopping cart to pay for the number of books you wish to receive. Books personalized with your child's information make great gifts for Grandparents.

How often will the "nickname" be used in the book?

If you choose to enter a nickname on the personalization form, that is the name that will be used throughout most of the book. We suggest using a nickname only if it is a name that your child is commonly known by.

Can I see how the book is personalized for my child?

We understand how important it is for you to see how your book is personalized with your child's information. We have put as many of the books as possible online with the text of the book with sample child data in red. Click on any of the "Read the Story" links to see how that book will print. We also have some interactive sample stories where you can see exactly how the story will print with your child's name, see those here.

Can I change the personalization information I submitted?

Please be careful when you fill out the personalization form for the books you order and correct any mistakes before submitting your order. If you realize you made a mistake when you filled out the personalization form, please immediately. (You must have JavaScript enabled to be able to use all email links on this website.)

What size are the books?

The Hard Cover Books come in a couple of sizes. The books are between 6" and 7 1/2" wide by about 8" to 9" tall depending on which book you order. Soft Cover Books measure 5 3/4" by 8 1/4" and Mini Books are 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". All books have wipe-clean covers, are professionally bound using a patented binding process and are built to last a lifetime.

The Lift-the-Flap Books are about 8 inches square when they are closed. The Pop-Up Books come in a few different sizes, please see the Pop-Up page.

How will I know that my order has been received?

You will receive a confirmation email stating that your order has been received. Please contact us if you do not receive an order confirmation within 24 hours.

How long until I will receive my book order?

That depends on the shipping method you choose. Orders are shipped out within 5-7 business days after payment has been received. If you choose the free shipping option, the US Post Office estimates it will take up to 14 business days to receive your order. If you choose Priority Mail, the US Post Office estimates it will take 2 to 4 business days for you to receive your order.

What Countries do you ship orders to?

Right now we only ship orders inside USA. We are working on shipping to other countries. If you are in another country, please and ask about shipping to your specific country.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping inside the USA via US Postal Service media mail. For an additional $4 per book, we will ship your books using USPS Priority Mail. There is also the option to add Shipping Insurance to your order. We are not responsible for lost mail.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, which accepts credit cards, debit cards and bank accounts.

Is ordering from your company secure?

Yes, The shopping cart is handled completely through PayPal and we never have access to your credit card information.

What is PayPal and is it secure?

PayPal is a trusted and secure online payment system, used by many companies on the internet to collect payment from customers, safely and securely. EBay is one of the largest users of PayPal, with millions of members performing transactions every day. It is a free service to you. Absolutely. PayPal is a secure website and never gives us access to your credit card number.

What is your privacy policy?

Your privacy is very important to us. We guarantee that we will never sell, share, trade, or give away any names, phone numbers, addresses or email addresses to anyone.

How can I contact you if I'm having problems with your website?

If you are having any problems with our website, or the ordering process, please . We will respond quickly and help you through any questions you may have.

What is your return policy?

The personalized items are produced with the answers that you provide through our online order forms, exactly as you entered them. We encourage you to carefully check the spelling in the order form before you submit an order - this includes proper capitalization of names and locations. We will not be able to refund or replace your purchase as a result of your spelling errors.

A return policy on personalized items is extremely difficult to provide, as the item is specifically created for an individual and cannot be resold. It is our goal that all of our customers be happy and completely satisfied with the books they receive. Therefore we provide the following return policy:
What if Ann's Personalized Books makes a mistake?
It does not happen often since two people proofread all books before they are shipped to you, but in the event that we make a mistake, we will correct and replace the book for you at no charge.
What if I supply you with the wrong information?
Please and we will do everything we can to make you a completely satisfied customer.

Am I required to pay sales tax?

You are only required to pay sales tax if we are shipping the book to a Texas address. Shipping to any other state does not require tax. PayPal will automatically add Sales Tax to all orders shipped to a Texas address.

What if I don't know any names of the child's friends to put in the book?

Some people put sibling or pet names in the books. You could also put "her friends" for many of the books. Read the story for the particular book you are interested in and see what you think works best. You may also and see what we suggest for a particular book.

What if a book I order is out of stock?

If a book you order is out of stock, we will notify you by email when we receive your order. It will take approximately 7 days longer if your book is not in stock. If you would like to choose a different book, simply let us know in your reply email. Party Favor Books and Large Soft Cover Books are always in stock.
